Description

Odea Montreal is a 26-story building located in the heart of Montreal. Its architecture, inspired by the shapes of a canoe and the boreal forests, pays homage to the Cree culture. The choice of precast concrete for the 569 facade panels is not only due to its durability and speed of implementation. The whiteness and grain of the concrete evoke the bark of a birch tree, a strong symbol of the project. This raw material has made it possible to create an aesthetic facade that protects the interior of the building, while adhering to an environmentally friendly approach.

The manufacturing process was optimized through the use of precast concrete. Indeed, the prefabrication of the panels has considerably reduced construction time on site. Most of the windows were installed in the factory, which simplified and accelerated the assembly of the building. This construction method also allowed for better control of the quality of the finishes and a more homogeneous final result. Thus, the choice of precast concrete for Odea Montreal proved to be an aesthetic, technical and economic solution.

The result of this remarkable work was rewarded with the prize for the best project of the year 2025 at the PCI Design Awards in the "International Building" category.
